Glaucoma Eye Exams

Glaucoma Screenings

Routine eye exams and glaucoma screenings are crucial to detecting it early, especially as our patients age

Diagnosis & Treatment Plan

Through measurement of the pressure in one's eye and observation of damage, we can detect glaucoma early and act fast

Medical Intervention

Glaucoma cannot be cured, but treatments can slow or halt the progress of the disease entirely

Risk Factors of Glaucoma

Aging

Patients at age 60 and over are at an increased risk

Corticosteroids

Use of corticosteroid medications for extended periods can increase your risk

Medical Conditions

Diabetes, heart disease, and sickle cell anemia can pose an increased risk

Injuries & Surgeries

Certain injuries and surgeries, such as post ovary removal, can increase risk of glaucoma

What Happens During a Glaucoma Screening?

We will perform several tests to determine your overall eye health and specifically test for any indication for glaucoma. These tests include: checking corneal thickness, checking for optic nerve damage, measuring the pressure inside of the eye, testing fields of vision, and inspecting drainage angle.
