Cataract Surgical
Intervention

A small incision is created in the eye to access the membrane or "capsule" that holds the lens. A small opening is created in the capsule and the lens is broken into smaller pieces. One of the pieces of the lens is removed, an artificial lens is positioned in the lens where the natural lens once was. This surgery is offered with both traditional methods, as well as laser techniques.
